Legend: The man who believed he was superior

long long time ago, in a little village called Katavia where everyone was small and not very beautiful, was born a man named Jim Kylor. When he was eight, he was already taller than his parents. He was very beautiful; all the girl of Katavia loved him secretly. He had long blond hair, a perfect nose and his eyes were blue, a blue like the sky under a shining sun, a blue like the sea in the Caribbean. He lived in a small house in the centre of the village with his parents and two sisters, Anna and Jane, who were so small that he could carry them with only one hand!

     At seventeen he was nearly a god for the katavians, all the girls but also the women loved him so much that if he asked anything, they would immediately have done it.

According to him all his advantages were because of his size and his beauty and that made him becoming very quickly the most powerful man of Katavia. The chief of the village who didn’t know what to do, asked Jim to take his place and  left the village. Nobody knew what happened to him. For Jim, only being the chief wasn’t enough so he asked the population of the village to crown him king of the Great Kingdom of Jimland and called Katavia, Jimcity the Great Capital.

     However, he wanted more power, and the Empire of Bastria, next to his own, was bigger, more powerful and known. So he decided to start a war against it. He asked three spies to do a report and three days later, Jim knew that there were five chiefs in Bastria:

The first was a violent war chief Draz; the second was the great Emperor Griboz descendant of the legendary founder of Bastria, Laryo; the third was Jack the leader of the senate loved by the population; then, Lola the beautiful Griboz’s only wife queen and idol of the woman and finally Eldur, the powerful and great priest, leader of the wise assembly and prophet of the religion. Together, they constituted the Great council which led the Empire from Bastria.

      The capital, Valurion, a big fortress very well guarded, was constituted by four parts: the “Center” where there was the palace of the king, the senate, the wise assembly, the great council and the temple; the “City” where the majority of the population was living, the “Garnison” where the soldiers of the Empire and all the other warriors lived; and the “Parky”, the richer district of Valurion and the most beautiful after the Center.

      The fortress was so well protected that he needed to have a good plan and a good army but he had none of them. He started by planning the assault with his adviser. He would attack three small villages in the empire far from each other to divide Bastria’s army, and then he would enter the capital with the biggest part of his army and would take two hostages: Eldur and Lola. He needed an army so he decided to get married with the daughter of a military chief well known in the kingdom, called Sarah. (It was the fourteenth time that he married a woman, because he had married 13 women since he became king of Jimland). He had to do this quickly so he went as soon as he had finished the battle plan.

      Two hours later, he arrived at the big house where Sarah was living. He saw her in the garden walking on the long path which circumvented the big remain. She wasn’t so beautiful, but Jim could see that she had a strong character. She had long brown hair, and when the wind was blowing on it, it was like horses galloping in plains. She had green eyes, the colour of poison which could kill him just in a glance. He approached her and told her:

<< -    You are Sarah, I suppose.

-         Yes, I am. Who are you to talk like that, answered her?

-         I’m your Great King Jim, Chief of the Great Kingdom of Jimland and I have come here to marry you.

-         NO, I don’t want to marry you, said Sarah leaving Jim alone in the garden. >>

     Jim was very angry. It was the first time that a woman refused to do something for him and moreover she refused to marry him. For him, nobody could refuse to marry him because of his beauty and his status as king. He couldn’t accept it, so he crossed the garden, entered into the house and was dried up praises of the servants. While he was drying up, Sarah saw him and shouted:

<<-     Leave my house it’s not because you’re the King and because you’re beautiful that we  

          are obliged to accept all that you ask. I don’t want to marry you, you’re the worst

          guy I’ve ever met, and moreover you have no brain. I don’t want to see you anymore.  

           Leave my house immediately!

-         WHAT? How dare you? Talking to a King like that, he answered much louder, Bring the guards and put her in prison. She will learn how to answer a King

And a king so beautiful, he thought. >>

     Even if his daughter was in prison because of Jim, Sarah’s father accepted to train an army for the king and to be a general. However there was another problem: Jimland was a country of peasants. The army was very very small; about 200 soldiers and nobody was able to fight. He decided to force the population to do conscription and to make the training more difficult for the soldiers. Moreover, he decided to double the wages of the soldiers the soldiers so they would enlist. During the men’s training, Jim believed that he was so important and beautiful that he could have a temple where he would be God. He forced the women to build an enormous temple for him, and if someone didn’t accept to do it, she was put in a big prison that had just been built.
